Hail and Climb.
Hail and Climb at Cirque Subite by Lucy Clarke
Now as I was young and easy under the apple boughs,
About the lilting house and happy as the grass was green...
Reflecting on my own childhood of tree-climbing and using Dylan Thomas' Fern Hill as a narrative source, Hail and Climb is a moving and uplifting aerial performance.
This piece focusses on an expressive performance rather than spectacle, it is about the simplicity, exuberance and strength of youth and how we adjust to the loss of this in life’s journey, retaining the optimism of childhood.
